GROVE CITY, Pa. - Keystone Safari has officially named its new female giraffe calf Savannah. The name was selected from entries submitted by park visitors as part of a naming contest that ran through Labor Day.
The calf, which was born on Tuesday, August 26, to parents Blue Jeans and Levi, weighed 154 pounds and stood 6 feet tall at birth. She is the fourth calf born to the pair, joining siblings Calvin, Timber, and Keyari.
Steven, the individual who submitted the winning name, was awarded two season passes to the park.
Savannah and her mother, Blue Jeans, can be seen daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. inside the giraffe barn.
The calf’s father, Levi, and older sister, Keyari, are also on view in the giraffe yard.
