ROCKY HILL, Conn. — A bad situation in Rocky Hill late Friday morning could have been much worse.
A tanker truck carrying approximately 2,000 gallons of waste cooking oil rolled over on Interstate 91 Southbound between Exits 22 and 23, according to the Rocky Hill Fire Department.
The fire department was dispatched regarding the crash around 11:23 a.m. and informed that fluids were leaking.
When first responders arrived at the scene, they found the tanker on its side next to the highway.
It was leaking a small amount of waste oil. Diesel was also leaking from a small hole in the fuel tank.
The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was able to get out of the tanker truck without help.
