Metro Vancouver Transit Police (MVTP) say three suspects have been arrested after a woman was slashed at a SkyTrain station in Burnaby.
Police say a physical altercation broke out at Metrotown just before noon on Friday.
“A 70-year-old woman, who was standing nearby and not involved in the dispute, was slashed in the leg with an edged weapon during the fight,” MVTP said.
“The individuals who were involved in the fight then fled the scene.”
Two men and a woman have since been arrested. Two weapons were found nearby, police say.
Const. Amanda Steed says they don’t believe the victim and suspects knew each other.
“This violent incident has had a significant impact on a woman who should be able to safely ride transit,” Steed said.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call MVTP
