UK holidaymakers who have suffered delays due to air traffic control (ATC) are being urged to contact the Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander to lodge their complaints.

Budget airline Ryanair has urged passengers who suffer ATC delays to email Heidi Alexander directly to complain, whose email address was already publicly available.

ATC is a service provided by ground-based controllers who direct aircraft on the ground and through controlled airspace intended to ensure their safety and efficiency.

Dublin-based airline Ryanair has included the Cabinet minister’s personal Parliament email address on a website named Air Traffic Control Ruined Your Flight.

Some 5,782 Ryanair flights were affected by delays caused by the UK’s ATC provider Nats between the start of the year and September
