KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy was injured just three plays into the season.

Worthy suffered a shoulder injury after colliding with tight end Travis Kelce on a drag route on the third play of Friday night’s season-opening game between the Chiefs and Chargers.

The Chiefs said Worthy was questionable to return after he walked into the locker room under his own power following a three-and-out opening drive. In the second quarter, Kansas City ruled him out for the game.

Chiefs trainers were attending to his shoulder on the sideline after the play. The YouTube broadcast said Worthy was heading the X-ray room.
