LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - In response to outcry from residents, the Louisiana Department of Energy and Natural Resources announced Low Carbon Logistics CCS Transport, LLC, has withdrawn its application for a carbon dioxide pipeline.

Exxon Mobile Entity Low Carbon Logistics CCS Transport, LLC, has plans to construct a pipeline that would carry carbon from Cities Service Highway south of Sulphur to an existing pipeline near La. 27 between Sulphur and DeQuincy.

But those plans have been put on hold, at least for now after residents expressed their concerns about how the pipeline would affect their property.
