MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A family is speaking out after a 17-year-old was shot Monday on Beale Street as 901 Day celebrations were ending.

The mother of T'Marious Allen, 17, is calling for more security downtown and accountability from the alleged shooter's family.

Tmanee or T'marious, Allen's son, was critically injured this past Monday on Beale Street.

"This is against the law, but I ran every red light to get downtown. I really did, to get to my baby, but by the time I got there, they were already pulling off," said Tyisea Allen, mother.

Tyisea and Victoria, her sister, said they were together waiting to hear from her son to get picked up from Beale Street when they got a call.
