ARP, Texas (KLTV) - The Arp Tigers and the Garrison Bulldogs tangled in a defensive battle on Friday night at Bill Herrington Tiger Field in Arp.
Arp got the ball to begin the game, but ended up punting the ball away on their first possession. The Bulldogs took over at their own 20-yard line, and drove to nearly midfield before turning the ball over on downs. Arp scored on their next drive with a 32-yard rushing touchdown by Josh Smith on fourth down and two. The extra point was good and with 4:03 to go in the first quarter, the Tigers led 7-0. Garrison’s next drive was cut short with a fumble, recovered by Arp’s Jaxon Schminkey. The Tigers wasted no time finding the end zone after the turnover.
