MINNEAPOLIS — Teamsters union workers at the University of Minnesota say they've overwhelmingly rejected the school's latest contract offer.
The union represents custodial, maintenance, and food service workers. They're seeking at least a 3.5% wage increase.
“A system-wide strike remains an option as we maneuver through the next several days and talk to members on the campuses,” said Brian Aldes, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 320, in a statement. “The ball is now in the university’s court to make this right or face a work stoppage.”
But the U says this offer is its best, and the last. In a statement Friday afternoon, the U says it's facing significant financial pressures
“The University must balance the needs and desires of Teamsters Local 320 members with the University’s obligation
