COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Drugs, cash and a weapon were reportedly seized following an investigation into drug distribution near Colorado Springs.

On Thursday, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said the Metro Narcotics Unit learned of drug distribution at an apartment on North Spruce Street in downtown Colorado Springs.

CSPD said surveillance was conducted to find which apartment the suspected distributors lived in and witnessed several drug deals.

According to police, a traffic stop was conducted on a suspected customer. A narcotics K9 was then released during the stop, and officers said drugs were found in the vehicle.

As a result of the K9 deployment, CSPD said a search warrant was then conducted on the apartment.
