WARE COUNTY, Ga. — The mother of a baby girl whose remains were found inside of a TV cabinet dumped off the side of a Waycross, Georgia, road in 1988 was convicted in her murder Friday.
The case struck a massive development in Nov. 2023 when the Georgia Bureau of Investigation identified the little girl, who had been a Jane Doe for 37 years, as Kenyatta Odom. Investigators used genetic genealogy and a public tip to identify her.
The GBI then charged Kenyatta's mother, Evelyn Odom, with her murder.
Odom's boyfriend, Ulyster Sanders, pleaded guilty to concealing Kenyatta's death.
Both will be sentenced at a later date.
