TEMPERS are starting to flare in the Kansas City Chiefs' opening game.

The Chiefs and Chargers are squaring off in a divisional matchup, and it is getting heated.

While marching down the field, things started to come to blows.

Travis Kelce got involved in a minor scuffle with Chargers defender Tiare Tart.

Kelce gave Tart a small shove at the end of a play that he obviously wasn't thrilled.

Tart responded by throwing a punch at Kelce, which drew the attention of the referees.

The situation was quickly settled down, and a full on brawl was avoided.

However, the Chargers were handed a 15-yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Tart was not ejected from the game for his punch.

The YouTube broadcast explained that since Tart's hand was open and not a closed fist, it wasn't an offense
