NEWPORT – Jefferson’s football team is charting a new course this fall.

The Bears is off to a 2-0 start for the first time since 2009 by beating Airport 43-7 on Friday, Sept. 5.

“This is a huge win over us,” Jefferson coach Rob Beaudrie said. “We talked to the kids about streaks. We had lost eight straight to Airport. Some of these kids were not even born the last time we were 2-0.”

Luke Beaudrie ran for two touchdowns, threw a TD to Hunter Barton and took an interception into the end zone.

Drake Jones and Grant Hakeos also scored touchdowns for the Bears.

“I am proud of this team and their effort,” Beaudrie said.
