HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -- In a MAGA world, it might be easy to forget what a dominant force in conservative politics the Tea Party was in about 2010 -- and just as easy to assume the Tea Party is a thing of the past.
But "we haven't gone away," Jenny Beth Martin, honorary chair of a group called Tea Party Patriots Action, speaking Friday in Lower Paxton Township before an "Only Citizens Vote Bus Tour" event supporting the "SAVE (Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act," which would require voters to prove their U.S. citizenship by providing a birth certificate or passport when they register.
Unlike at the Tea Party protests early in Barack Obama's presidency, no one Friday was wearing American Revolution-era hats.
