JACKSON -- Down by four with just under four minutes to play in Friday’s nonconference game, the Adrian Maples used big plays to get into scoring range, then punched the ball in on a fourth-down pass with just over a minute left to beat Northwest 24-21.

The Maples had the ball at their own 35 with 3:49 left before a pair of Luke Bruggeman runs got them to midfield and a pass from sophomore quarterback Jaxon Dowling to Adam Parker got the ball to the Mounties’ five.
