Grandville football’s strategy was simple: Hold the ball long enough to keep Detroit Cass Tech’s high-powered offense on the sideline.

And it makes a lot of sense, especially with the Technicians featuring sophomore running back Julian Taylor.

In one of the wildest games of the 2025 Michigan high school football season, Cass Tech (2-0) squeaked by Grandville (1-1) with a 31-28 victory, punctuated by kicker Fabian Garza’s winning field goal in overtime. But it was Taylor, not the star North Carolina commit C.J. Sadler, leading a fully-loaded offense that helped carry Cass Tech to the finish line.
