The Odessa High football team’s home opener did not go according to plan as the Bronchos were dealt a 51-13 loss to the L.D. Bell Blue Raiders Friday at Ratliff Stadium.

Playing on what was also homecoming night for the Bronchos, Odessa High fell to 0-2 while L.D. Bell improved to 2-0.

Throughout the game, the Blue Raiders (out of District 4-6A) looked much better than last year’s 2-8 team that lost to Odessa High.

This time, there was no repeat of last year’s upset.

After suffering a 55-12 loss to Amarillo High in last week’s season opener, Odessa High was outmatched by another opponent in Week 2.

The Bronchos only trailed 14-7 at the end of the first quarter but by halftime, the Blue Raiders had built a 31-7 lead.
