Coming off somewhat of a down year, Seaford is ready to return to powerhouse status.

And running back Brian Falk is ready to carry the Vikings a long way. The senior rushed for 136 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries to lead host Seaford to a 40-7 win over West Hempstead in a Nassau Conference IV football opener Friday night.

Falk entered the game 41 yards shy of 3,000 career rushing yards. He had five carries for 54 yards on the Vikings’ opening drive, which ended with the 6-2, 195-pound back running in a 12-yard TD.

“In the long run, I haven’t really thought much about my total yards. I just found out a week ago that I was 41 yards away,” Falk said. “Three thousand yards is a huge milestone. It means everything. So now, I’m trying to go for 3,500 and then 4,000.”
