Hewitt-Trussville’s players might be feeling it in the morning, but Friday night was all smiles for the Huskies as they survived a dog fight against Vestavia Hills in their Class 7A, Region 3 opener.
Despite losing a pair of starting offensive linemen, Hewitt was able to grind out a 28-14 win at home. The Huskies have star running back Deuce Alston to thank for that. The Kentucky commit ran for 194 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries, scoring from 2 yards and 73 yards out.
