Canutillo improved to 1-1 in the 2025 high school football season with a 57-32 wi n vs. Montwood on Friday night at Canutillo High School.

Running back Jarid Gamiz scored five touchdowns to lead the Eagles, who never trailed and led 35-20 at halftime.

The Eagles are 1-1 and Montwood is 0-2. Canutillo is ranked No, 7 in this week's El Paso Times' Top 10 poll. The Class 5A Eagles defeated Class 6A Montwood for the second straight year.

Canutillo returns home to take on Burges on Thursday, Sept.11 in the opener of District 1-5A, Division 2 play. Montwood will play El Dorado on Thursday, Dep. 11 at the SAC 2.
