RIDGEWAY, Wis. (WMTV) - A Ridgeway man was arrested Thursday evening after driving into a construction zone, nearly hitting a construction worker and running into a semi-truck, the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.

Around 10:49 a.m., the ICSO was sent to a reported motor vehicle collision and disturbance near the intersection of U.S. Highway 18/151 and County Road HHH in Ridgeway.

When deputies got to the scene, they learned the suspect driver was a 60-year-old from Ridgeway. The suspect admitted to moving a barricade and driving into a closed construction zone, the sheriff’s office said.

ICSO said the suspect tried to quickly turn around in the active work area during the incident.
