SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- The San Diego Police Department on Friday released the identity of a man who was stabbed to death at a hotel in the Gaslamp Quarter.
Daniel Stanley, 38, was found stabbed on the second floor of the Golden West Hotel at 720 4th Avenue Wednesday evening, according to authorities.
When first responders arrived on scene, they took the victim to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities say the suspect, identified as 44-year-old Rene Lunar, left the hotel and ran from the scene. He later turned himself in to police and was arrested without incident in the 1500 block of India Street.
Investigators believe the victim and suspect were engaged in an argument that escalated into a physical confrontation and the deadly stabbing of the victim.
