GRATERFORD — Technically, Juliun Corropolese’s extra point was the difference in Perkiomen Valley’s 17-16 overtime thriller of a victory over defending District 1-6A champion Downingtown West on Friday night.
But in a more accurate, practical sense, the Vikings’ special teams as a whole – but led by Corropolese – were the difference in a game that was just about dead even from down to down.
Avenging an earlier miss, Corropolese first sent the game into an extra period with a 32-yard field goal, then followed Colin Sturges’ 10-yard touchdown run in overtime with the deciding extra point – a difference created by PV blocking D-West’s point after touchdown at the start of the overtime period.
“It’s a battle with myself,” admitted Corropolese when asked about maintaining his confidence in t
