Mary G. Montgomery’s special teams scored two touchdowns, Jakenyon Allen had three scores and its overpowering running game finally choked the life out of Daphne in the second half as the No. 6-ranked Vikings beat back the Trojans 41-31 Friday night at Jubilee Stadium.

Allen, a diminutive junior with game-changing speed, gave MGM opponents even more to worry about as the season wears on with a breakout game — breaking loose on a 63-yard TD run on the game’s second play, returning a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter and getting his toes inbounds on a 13-yard fade from Jeremy Menhennett in the right corner of the end zone in the third quarter.
