While Bozeman High’s teams were tough to beat, nobody was catching Glacier’s Owen Thiel and Lauren Bissen, who won the individual titles at the Flathead Invitational cross country meet Friday.
Bozeman swept the team titles at the meet, which brought 18 boys and 25 girls teams to Rebecca Farm outside Kalispell. The Hawk girls won with 47 points, well ahead of Helena High (91) and Glacier (114). Flathead was sixth at 259.
The Bozeman boys had 45 points to 105 for Missoula Hellgate, 137 for Helena High and 143 for Glacier. Flathead’s boys were fifth at 166.
Meanwhile Thiel and Bissen set personal records.
Bissen, a junior, won the girls title in 18 minutes, 12.85 seconds, well ahead of freshman teammate Ada Thiel (18:22.08). Bozeman’s Kylee Neil and Phoebe Maixner led a 3-4-8-12-20 Bozema
