One person is dead after a shooting at a Walmart parking lot in Eugene on the evening of Sept. 5.

The shooting happened outside the Walmart located at 4550 W 11th Ave., according to Eugene Police.

Police responded to reports of the shooting at 5:18 p.m.

It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting.

Police said they are withholding the identity of the deceased until family are notified.

Eugene Police's Violent Crimes Unit is investigating the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Cliff Sites at 541-682-5147.
