Business owners affected by a fire which gutted a shopping centre in Perth's north-east have called for state government support as they begin the recovery process.

The Morley Market was engulfed by flames on Wednesday morning, and authorities initially suspected the blaze was deliberately lit.

But it was later revealed investigators viewing CCTV footage had mistaken the reflection of a car's windscreen for a molotov cocktail , and the blaze was deemed non-suspicious.

About 70 firefighters battled the blaze over a period of seven hours, with every business in the market building impacted.

The market was home to dozens of food and retail outlets, many of them family-run businesses that had been in operation for decades.
