Five Michigan farm families will be inducted into the Michigan Farmers Hall of Fame on Sept. 20. The event will take place at the Barry Expo Center in Barry County, marking the first time the ceremony will be held at the Hall of Fame's new location, according to a community announcement.

The inductees include Tom Durand from St. Clair County, the DeGrandchamp family from Van Buren County, Ken and Jane Gasper from Ionia County, Jon and Gloria Haindl from Schoolcraft County, and Carl and Anne Pease from Eaton County.

Durand has focused on improving the corn industry for all farmers. He has served on the Michigan Corn Growers Association and the Corn Marketing Program of Michigan. Durand produces corn, soybeans, wheat, black beans and sugar beets in St. Clair County
