ODESSA, Texas ( KOSA /Gray News) - A college cross-country athlete in Texas died after he collapsed during practice, the school announced.
Gage Broomall, a sophomore at Odessa College, collapsed at the start of the cross-country practice on Thursday afternoon.
The college said despite immediate efforts by emergency personnel, Broomall did not survive.
“Gage was a valued member of the Odessa College Wrangler family, and his loss is deeply felt by his teammates, coaches, classmates, and all who knew him,” the college said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.”
At this time, there is no word on what caused Broomall’s death.
