AUGUSTA, N.J. (NEWS10) -- The Tri-City ValleyCats followed up their first postseason win in seven years Wednesday with their first postseason series win in seven years Friday. The 'Cats rolled into the Sussex County Miners' Skylands Stadiums for Game 2 of the Wild Card Round, and came out with a 4-3 victory, completing a sweep of the Miners in the best-of-three set.
Tri-City opened the scoring in the second inning. After an Oscar Campos single, Ian Walters went yard two batters later - his second straight game with a home run - to give the ‘Cats a 2-0 lead.
Tri-City added to its lead with a run off an error in the sixth. Then Campos took Will Silva deep for a solo shot in the eighth, extending the margin to four runs.
