On Aug 26, at Seattle's International Airport, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized an illegal shipment of more than 11,000 fake Labubu dolls coming in from South Korea.
The shipment, valued at nearly $514,000 and falsely labeled as “LED Bulb," was intercepted and seized by CBP officials for containing pirated versions of copyrighted goods, a CBP spokesperson stated on Wednesday via email.
While TSA's recent ban on a toy for Neurodivergent Children had an aviation security reason behind it, a shipment of fake Labubu dolls entering the U.S. violates federal law prohibiting unlawful imports and those that profit from others' intellectual property . In other words, a punishable criminal offense.
