“For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death.” — Bible (2 Corinthians 7:10)

Bill and Beatty had been arguing over some changes they wanted to make to their house. The changes were relatively minor and mostly cosmetic. But the argument had become heated. Both said some things that were insensitive and unkind. Bill in particular was very critical of Beatty’s proposed changes. Later, after they cooled off, Bill realized that he had been a little extreme in his criticism of Beatty’s ideas. He was sorry that what he said bothered her so much. But his attitude remained the same.
