SALT LAKE CITY – A rainstorm in Washington City caused a semitruck to crash on Interstate 15 after the storm created wet road conditions .
The Washington City Fire Department said on Friday that the driver of the semi lost control of the truck due to rain, causing dangerous road conditions, and came to a rest off the side of the roadway.
“Thankfully, the driver was able to walk away with no serious injuries,” the fire department said. “Please remember (to) slow down during rainstorms, leave extra space between vehicles, watch for standing water and hydroplaning hazards.”
The Utah Highway Patrol also advised people to put coats or blankets on children after buckling them up to help keep them safer if a crash occurs.
