BATAVIA — While it was difficult to sell the business started by their father 66 years ago, Victor Giambrone and Valerie Schultz knew that the time had come and that the right buyers had come along to start a new chapter in the long and successful story of Ben’s Appliance Kitchens & Baths, 634 East Main St., Batavia.

“It’s the heart of our family,” Valerie said, unable to hold back the tears when asked how she felt about the sale of the store to the Rochester-based Kitchens by Oaks last November. “It’s hard to let go … but we’re very, very happy with who we let it go to because we know that they are going to take care of our community.”
