PACIFIC — A 61-year-old man on a motorcycle was killed Friday morning when he struck an SUV.

The 40-year-old man driving the 2020 Chevrolet Traverse was attempting to make a left turn from eastbound West Osage Street onto Cedar Drive about 9:30 a.m., according to the Missouri Highway Patrol, and he turned into the path of the motorcycle.

The SUV hit the front of the 2014 Harley-Davidson. The driver of the motorcycle, from the Villa Ridge area of Franklin County, was pronounced dead when first responders arrived.

The driver of the SUV, who is from Pacific, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital, the patrol said.

The highway patrol does not release the names of people involved in crashes.
