OXFORD, Iowa (KCRG) - More school districts are adding therapy dogs to their staff. You may remember a story TV9 brought you last year about a new therapy dog at Clear Creek Elementary in Oxford.
From being a support during math to reading, to afternoon snuggles and pets, Sully, the therapy dog, had a productive first year at Clear Creek Elementary.
“Kids can come in whenever they need a break. So if they’ve earned time with him, or maybe they just need a break from like something that has happened throughout the day, and just him being in here able to provide like that comfort for them,” said Lindsey Shaull, reading and math interventionist at CCE and Sully’s handler.
