Full disclosure, as they say, I have known John Tory for many years – I have worked on three of his campaigns to become Toronto mayor.

And I like him as a person.

But his time has passed. He should not run again. If he does, he deserves defeat.

Under Tory, the city began its downward descent – and, at the end, he was mired in an ugly scandal that shocked and appalled those of us who had worked for him.

More disclosure: I have known Olivia Chow for a long time, too. I worked on one of her campaigns to become Toronto’s mayor. I like her as a person.

But she, too, deserves to be defeated. Under Chow’s watch, Toronto has become dirty, dangerous and dysfunctional.
