COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - Texas A&M safety Dalton Brooks is suited up and warming up for Texas A&M’s home bout against Utah State.
Head coach Mike Elko said earlier in the week he would be available after missing the season opener. Elko declined to offer an explanation for his absence on Monday.
According to the Texas A&M radio pregame show, Brooks suffered a hamstring injury during fall camp.
Brooks played 564 snaps last season, which ranked fourth on the Aggies, according to Pro Football Focus. He recorded 51 tackles, which was second only to linebacker Taurean York.
Last week, Bryce Anderson and Marcus Ratcliffe took almost every snap at safety. The pair worked out with the first team defense during warm ups Saturday.
