It’s a sad day for the MLB world after news broke out about legendary manager Davey Johnson’s death. The baseball world is mourning the loss of Johnson, who has several accolades to his name. Johson, who led the New York Mets to their 1986 World Series victory, passed away at 82. Sadly, Johnson was not the first legend to pass away this year.
Apart from the Mets, Davey Johnson also managed other MLB teams like the Baltimore Orioles, Los Angeles Dodgers, Washington Nationals, and the Cincinnati Reds. SNY was one of the first to report on Johnson’s death.
“Former Mets manager Davey Johnson has passed away. Johnson managed the Mets from 1984-1990 and was the team’s skipper for their 1986 World Series victory. He owns the highest all-time winning percentage of any Mets manager (.588).”
