Before this season, the Miners football program hadn’t lost back-to-back games since 2021. Would Park City lose three games in a row, taking on Olympus Friday night on the road, no chance.
The Miners rebounded with a 10-3 victory over their larger 5A opponent. Tanner Pidwell nailed a 35 yard field goal as time expired in the first half. Josh Hofer returned from a week two head and neck injury to deliver the winning score, a 17 yard touchdown pass to Brogan Price.
Park City only let up a last second 34 yard field goal on defense. While the Miners gave up the onside kick afterwards, they successfully defended the Titans’ Hail Mary.
The Miners are now 2-2, but the road ahead doesn’t get any easier. Park City will travel to Bountiful this upcoming Friday night at 7 p.m. The Redhawks are 1-3
