BURRELL TOWNSHIP, Pa. —
A 102-year-old woman was killed after a vehicle ran a red light and caused a major crash along Route 22 in Burrell Township Friday evening, Pennsylvania State Police said.
According to a release, officials were called to the intersection of Resort Plaza Drive and State Route 22 just before 4 p.m. following reports of a crash involving two vehicles. Advertisement
Police said preliminary investigation found that a driver traveling eastbound on State Route 22 went through a steady red light while another vehicle with a green light was making a left turn from Resort Plaza Drive onto the road.
Officials said the vehicle that ran the red light attempted to avoid the collision but was unable to and hit the second vehicle.
