LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Texas Tech improved to 2-0 to start the year as the Red Raiders rout the Kent State Golden Flashes, 62-14.
Behren Morton finished with 258 yards on 18 completions and three touchdowns in the first half. Will Hammond took over at QB to start and finish the second half.
Hammond threw for 94 yards with one touchdown pass and one rushing touchdown. Reggie Virgil had five catches for 50 yards. Coy Eakin led in the receiving yards category with 59 yards on three catches.
Adam Hill led Texas Tech on the ground with 16 carries for 127 yards.
The Red Raider defense forced one fumble and Skyler Gill-Howard grabbed a tipped pass in the air returned for a touchdown.
Texas Tech combined for three sacks on the day. The Red Raiders are back at home next week for the third str
