ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Enrollment at McMurry University has reached 4,144 students this year, marking the third consecutive year of record growth and a 30% increase compared with 2024.

The 2025 freshman class is the largest in the university’s history, and new student enrollment overall grew by 4%. Full-time transfer students also rose 18%, reflecting steady growth across multiple student groups.

The university’s Dual Credit Academy, launched in 2022 to provide high school students with early access to college courses, saw enrollment increase by more than 50% this year. Over 2,900 students from more than 216 Texas high schools participated. The program offers 20 college-level courses, scholarships to McMurry, and pathways for students to earn college credit—or an associate’s degree
