OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) - This year marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11, and retired New York firefighter Jason Hartley is remembering the lives lost during the Patriot Day ceremony.

“I can’t put it into words. I’ve already wiped my eyes three times today,” Hartley shared.

Hartley remembers that day in 2001 like it was yesterday.

“I’m just glad to be here and be part of it. That’s it. Wear my colors and be part of it,” Hartley said.

Hartley was an EMT at the time and remembers working “The Pile.” Now, he’s remembering those who can’t be here at the annual Patriot Day ceremony.

“I just love the emotional support from Florida and Texas, people who do this in different states where this didn’t happen,” shared Hartley.

A big part of the day is a 9/11 Memorial Wall honoring all of the lives los
