EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick has reportedly been axed from the BBC soap, 19 years after his debut in Albert Square.
The 31-year-old plays the role of Jay Brown, a character he's taken on since the age of 12. Originally a recurring character, Jay became a Walford regular in 2007.
It is understood that he was only told in the last few days that he will no longer be part of the BBC cast, reported the Mirror.
BBC Studios, which makes the soap, said: "We can confirm that Jamie Borthwick will not be returning to EastEnders . We do not comment on individual matters."
The actor was criticised earlier this year for using an offensive term for people with disabilities to describe Blackpool residents while he was filming for Strictly Come Dancing.
