YUMA COUNTY, Ariz. — The Yuma County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide.

The sheriff's office said the investigation began when deputies were called out to a home near the 800 Block of S. Almond Avenue after an unresponsive man was reported.

When deputies arrived, they found the victim. He was taken to Onvida Health in the Yuma area, and then later to Phoenix hospital for treatment, where the man died.

The sheriff's office didn't specify the exact nature of the victim's death but did describe him as having "serious injuries."

Other details about the case were not released by the sheriff's office.
