CORNING, N.Y. (WETM) — Those who travel on a certain street in Corning may want to account for a temporary closure starting Monday due to roadwork taking place, according to a release from the City of Corning Department of Public Works (DPW).

Starting Monday, Sept. 8, Cedar Street in Corning will be closed between First Street and Second Street while members from DPW start to repair damage following a recent water main break, the release explained.

While crews are working only pedestrian traffic is allowed on Cedar Street, the release emphasized.

The City of Corning DPW did not provide a timeline as to when the road will re-open to vehicle traffic and further apologizes for any inconveniences caused by the roadwork.
