PULTENEY, N.Y. (WETM) — The New York Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) has announced that a portion of a road will be closed in the Town of Pulteney starting on Monday, while crews work to replace a retaining wall.

Beginning Monday, Sept. 8, at 6:30 a.m. a section of State Route 54A will be closed to all traffic between County Route 74 and County Route 32 while crews work on a retaining wall replacement project, NYSDOT said. The work is expected to be completed by the end of September, weather permitting, NYSDOT explained.

While work is taking place, drivers are asked to follow the signed detour that will be in place using 'Emergency Route “B”' (County Route 74, County Route 78, County Route 33 and County Route 32), NYSDOT noted.
