Rare partial solar eclipse graces skies over New England Saturday

ARCHIVE (March 2025) - The moon blocked about half the sun as the sun rose across the Northeast Saturday morning, putting on a show for those up early enough and able to dodge the clouds and rain.

The Brief

A total lunar eclipse coincides this weekend with the full moon.

The full moon is covered during a total eclipse and blushes coppery red because of stray bits of sunlight filtering through Earth’s atmosphere.

This eclipse won’t be visible in the U.S., but livestreams are available.
