CENTRAL, La. (WAFB) - A Central man is facing charges after deputies say he allegedly assaulted a woman while two children were present during the incident.

According to arrest documents, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office arrested Charles Howard Alexander, 33, early Saturday morning, Sept. 6, on a charge of domestic abuse battery with child endangerment.

Deputies say they responded to a disturbance at a home on Glenwood Springs Drive at around 4:45 a.m. The victim told investigators she and Alexander had been in a relationship for six years and shared two young children.

The victim alleged Alexander blocked her vehicle in the driveway, tried to stab her car with a knife, pulled her by the hair, and punched her forehead while the children were inside the vehicle. Deputies noted swell
